Spotlight on Texas
Mess with Texas? Why would we want to when the Lone Star State's churning out films par excellence as of late? Home to a thriving film culture, its epicenter in Austin, the region is flush with upstart filmmakers and vibrant programming (thanks to the Austin Film Society and SXSW). Texas has a rich pedigree of filmmaking talent too, from genre masters like Tobe Hopper (of CHAINSAW MASSACRE fame) to mavericks like Eagle Pennell. And then superstars like Terrence Malick, Richard Linklater and Wes Anderson came along. Mess with Texas? We wouldn't dare.

The working title of EGGSHELLS says it all: AN AMERICAN FREAK ILLUMINATION. Tobe Hooper's debut feature could only have been made in the 1960s. The Intervention
Jay and Mark Duplass step away from their comedies about soul-seeking single men to look askance at a social group determined to help a friend (no matter how much it will hurt him). Steve Zissis, star of Duplass' family comedy THE DO-DECA-PENTATHLON, plays the secret-keeping...Watch Movie -
The Past is a Foreign Country
In April 1989, a body floats down the Colorado River with a bullet wound in the back of its head. That body is John H. Jenkins, rare book and historical document dealer. He had been at the epicenter of one of the largest document-forgery scandals in Texas history and his death...Watch Movie
