Spotlight on Space
Thought you'd be farming water on a moon colony by now? Unless current trajectories accelerate (or SpaceX really takes off) the closest any of us are getting to being astronauts is on screen. Which probably explains why outer space has been a continual fascination, from A Trip to the Moon through to Gravity: over a century of films showing us what we can see but never reach. There are off-base predictions, momentous triumphs and disastrous miscalculations, but ultimately these films show how far we've come, and the distance left to travel.
