Wintery climates can be enchanting or treacherous, depending on how harsh the conditions are (and the thickness of your socks). Whether breathtakingly beautiful or dangerously bleak, frozen, ice-ravaged landscapes, or "Snowscapes" as we've dubbed them here, offer a striking backdrop to set a story. Survival sagas, whimsical winter wonderlands, sojourns through the coldest of colds; in each of these frigid films, the snowy scenery takes center stage, or at the very least plays a pivotal supporting role.
