Spotlight on '70s Cult Films

Although B-movies had been around for decades thanks to mavericks like Roger Corman and Ed Wood, the low-brow really had its heyday in the 1970s. And boy, what a heyday it was. Low-budget, outré filmmaking flourished with the likes of Al Adamson, Jack Hill and John Waters producing a steady stream of wildly original shlock and exploitation films. Sniffed at when they were initially released, many of these films developed a cult following over the subsequent decades and are now celebrated for their outrageousness rather than scorned.
