Replicants are the beings that Blade Runners hunt: Almost-humans that looks like us, talk like us, and often want the same things we do, but they were built, not born, and are treated as second-class citizens at best. When it comes to rooting out the real humans from the engineered ones, however, it turns out to be a tricky tendril to trace, indeed. In this video, we show how the Replicants in both Blade Runner and its new sequel Blade Runner 2049 serve as reminders of the fragile boundaries between us and the machines we create, boundaries which are getting more fragile all the time.
