The Twilight series made stars of Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart while making boatloads of money at the box office. But while the films were increasingly derided by critics even as fans of the books flocked to see them in droves—the true legacy of the films may end up being the two gifted actors at the center of the story. Since the end of the young adult vampire romance series, Stewart and Pattinson have ardently pursued eclectic projects that challenge them as actors. Pattinson has worked with Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert), David Cronenberg (Cosmopolis), James Gray (Lost City of Z), and now Josh and Ben Safdie with Good Time. No longer simply the pretty, sparkling vampire fans loved to swoon over, Pattinson is a serious actor capable of helping an independent movie get made and then owning the central role.
