David Lowery is quickly establishing himself as one of the few directors who’s able to work as easily within Hollywood as outside it. Lowery’s feature-length directorial debut, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, which premiered at Sundance in 2013, made him an indie darling. And in one short move he graduated to co-writing and directing Pete’s Dragon for Disney. His latest film, A Ghost Story, returns the director to his indie roots. But not one to rest on his laurels, or on the periphery, he is scheduled to reunite with Disney to co-write and direct the upcoming live-action Peter Pan later this year.
