Dan Stevens first caught our eye portraying Matthew Crawley on “Downton Abbey,” but since his sudden death in the season 3 finale, the actor has used his second life as an opportunity to go west to Hollywood. Since then he has seemed unbound by genre, appearing in everything from thrillers like A Walk Among the Tombstones and The Guest to the indie film, Colossal, opposite Anne Hathaway. You may have missed him in Beauty and the Beast (but, hint, he’s one of the characters in the title). And he has even entered the Marvel Universe as David Haller, the son of Professor Charles Xavier in “Legion.” His latest role is as Charles Dickens in The Man Who Invented Christmas, proving that nothing can hold back those British baby blues from taking over our theaters.
