How do you enter the mind of a cat? These creatures, as beloved as they are strange, inhabit our homes and hearts, but we understand so little about them. Many filmmakers have attempted to get into the mindset of a cat not only by filming them, but by accessing their point of view to better understand their world. Hence, we get “Experimental Cats!” And it’s not just the felines that are experimental (though who amongst us could see what a cat sees when it plays inside a cardboard box?), but the filmmakers, as well. We here at Fandor celebrate cats as much as we like to celebrate the filmmaker. So come along with us as we explore these felines as only a filmmaker can and afterwards check out our own selection of cat movies from Boxing Cats (1894) all the way to The Case of the Grinning Cat (2004).
