Summary

At the beginning of 2014, a new New York Mayor has been elected: he is Bill de Blasio, one-hundred ninth New York City Mayor, the fourth of Italian-American origins.
Bill de Blasio was born in America, but his maternal grandparents were originally from Sant'Agata de Goti (county of Benevento), and Grassano (county of Matera).
The latter, Grassano, is also the town where the film's author's roots lie in. Inspired by this peculiar coincidence, the author embarks on a trip to the South of Italy, together with his father, in order to rediscover his roots, witness De Blasio's historical visit to Grassano, and collect stories about a community that has been forced to abandon its motherland, looking for a better future, as the Big Apple first citizen's grandmother had one-hundred years ago.
