A Simple Game of Catch
A SIMPLE GAME OF CATCH is a "novella film," a chamber drama shot over a four-day time-frame, mostly with a one-man crew and literally no budget. It tells the story of a young woman named Chazz who has just arrived in New York from her hometown of Pittsburgh. Jobless, she responds to a job ad involving parrot-sitting for a Manhattanite going out of town. She soon must weather the effects of severe loneliness as well as the emotional repercussions of the humiliating thing she decides to do while cooped up house-sitting. This ultimately precipitates in her eavesdropping on neighbors, all the while having unreciprocated conversations with her new feathered friend.
