Who am I This Time?1982

  • 4.1
Mix together a small town community theatre's shy leading man and the lovely telephone worker who moves into town and you have a perfect recipe for a delightful romantic comedy. Academy Award® winners Susan Sarandon and Christopher Walken star as the couple who discover that affairs of the heart on the stage may be a bit less complicated than continuing the romance off the stage. Director Jonathan Demme, an Academy Award® winner, deftly weaves this endearing tale of love in bloom from Kurt Vonnegut, Jr's story.

I remember seeing this on TV when it came out. I was sixteen. It really had a positive effect on my teenage imagination. I even wrote a letter to the entertainment columnist for Parade magazine about it. Relearning about it has taken me back to that particular place and time and to that kid watching TV with his mom. It's beautiful how movies can do that. It's great to see it on Fandor.

A splendid film borne of a charming story, refreshingly poignant performances, and an obvious love for the stage.

Loved this film.

Casting for Christopher Walken and Susan Sarandon roles should have been thirty years younger. Too old for the roles. The hand held camera effect is 15 years ahead of its time.

Interesting to see Christopher Walken and Susan Saradon at the beginning of their long careers.

Charming short film.

Have always liked Walken and Sarandon. It was good to see them when their stars were rising. Didn't even know this movie existed.

love it!
