"For people who wish they could pick up hitchhikers." Made when director Josh Safdie was still a film student in Boston, WE'RE GOING TO THE ZOO concerns a brother and sister driving hours to the zoo. Without meaning to, they pick up a dapper hitchhiker (played by Safdie) and the encounter brings a little levity to the journey.

Made me think how interesting it would be to pick up a stranger and do things that I'd never do alone...BUT, I never pick up strangers anymore, a sign of the dangerous times we live in..The film made me smile, well worth the 15 mins.
