Needing a sudden escape from the city, Robbie flees Brooklyn for the countryside to stay with his aunt who runs a home for pregnant teenagers. As the only man in the house, Robbie inadvertently becomes the object of the girls' attention... and affection. He eventually meets Nina, who is mature beyond her age and struggling with relationship troubles of her own. The more Robbie and Nina get to know each other, the more "complicated" their friendship becomes, stirring up jealously among the girls. In trying to save Nina from making the biggest mistake of her life, Robbie gets caught in a love triangle between Nina and her delinquent baby daddy, Chase.

Slice-of-life "New Yorker" magazine short - story kind of movie. Left unresolved at the end, which only heightens the mood of the various characters' uncertainty over which pathways to take at their lives' crossroads….

Excellent theme let down by a limp cliché ridden script.

WEAK ACTORS, THE STORY LINE NEVER MATURED JUST LIKE IT'S CAST..IT HAD SCENES THAT BUILD UP THEN PLATEAUED, WHY ATTEMPT SUSPENSE WHEN EVERY PREDICAMENT APPEARED SHORT LIVED AND BLAND

Some fascinating moments early on gives the promise of inventive storytelling, but it slowly shows itself to be as strictly formulaic as any Michael Bay movie.

Silver's most formally accomplished film thus far in his career is also the result of his least narrative and thematically accomplished.

It's reasonably well-made, reasonably well-acted and the emotions driving the characters well-defined. And perhaps that's why this film didn't resonate with me as much as it could have. I felt as though I had seen this all before, although admittedly not in this exact manner. Still, a good, albeit slow-paced, drama and anyone intrigued by the description will probably enjoy it sufficiently.
