Excessive. Grotesque. Perverse. Outrageous. What more could you ask for from a comedy? There’s some over-the-top, in-yer-face, social satire going on here, fueled by gallons of crimson Kool Aid fired from high-pressure fire sprinklers, and several tons of mutilated rubber heads and limbs. Herschell Gordon Lewis would be impressed.

Another barf bag epic from the Japanese. In the first ten minutes we get an exploding head and a chainsaw through the mouth, but that's nothing. There are still a hundred or so more stomach-slicing, eye-gouging, face-butchering, blood-spraying minutes to go. I think every human appendage gets torn off here except for tongues (maybe that's in the "deleted scenes" on the DVD). And if that doesn't do it for you, there's the part where a guy eats a handful of live, wiggling worms. In the middle is your basic "policewoman searching for her father's killer" story. Here, the police are a private company who work to kill these nearly invulnerable bad guys called "engineers". If you try to hurt an "engineer", it only makes him stronger. Shoot his eye out and a new super-eye grows back. Cut his arm off and a new crocodile-like appendage sprouts up in its place. Bite his tallywhacker off and it grows back as a big, pink cannon between his legs. It's a gross-out flick that's played for laughs. Watch it drunk.
Wow, I can really see how the movie draws from Japanese Animation roots ( a lot of shots with no movement, except for blood streams). Entertaining, but really repetitive, and over the top. However, I applaud the movies use of makeup effects in lieu of CGI!
Tokyo Gore Police is not everyone's cup of tea. In fact, i am pretty sure it is a cup of tea that will cause most people to make a distressed noise and immediately rush to pour it out in the sink. But, if you like the gross and the black humor and the hallucinatory-level weird -- or just dig special-effects makeup --it's worth a look, although you probably will also be spending some of the running time looking away...

I like gore. I don't like gore porn. I don't like perversion for the sake of perversion. I want clever and life affirming craziness. This isn't life affirming. There is only one part of this film that is great (and life affirming), and it's the clever, and ironic, TV advertisements. Dolphin razor blades for cutting yourself? Cute and oh-so- Japanese. But the rest? Bleh...
Totally madcap body horror extravaganza.
Maybe with a larger budget....Some funny scenes but quickly tiring....Weird car but the chick is beautiful....Trippy underground whore house though!
bloody funny bloody crazy bloody insane bloody amazing_yeah sometimes dumb but it's super crazy fun & worth the ride + Eihi Shiina - Ruka is great
The Sistine Chapel of sci-fi/horror/action gore. With assault gun penises, alligator vaginas, humanoid golden shower chairs, a vinyl fetish amputee gimp with katana limbs and so much more hilarious, perverted gore, this is a must see for any twisted gore fan.
Crazy.

4 stars for being the best of it's kind!
The director doesn't care so much about realistic visuals, yet ironically, the low-budget deficiency is what makes the viewing experience sensational. The imperfections amp up the entertainment quality and the holes are then filled with lush, grotesque, bizarre, over-the-top images and ideas. Therefore, TGP still manages to shock its viewers with high concepts, making this film quite daring and visionary, with a dab of dark humor on Japanese society and pop culture (those commercials are sickening). It's almost unimaginable how the film was shot and completed in merely two weeks. I have a lot of respect for creatives who can do a lot with so little, rather than most Hollywood $$$ filmmakers -cough- Michael Bay -cough- who plays the predictable card all the time. TGP is definitely a unique, gut-turning experience--quite literally!
Seriously great storyline and action. There is no doubt that this movie will not be for everyone and by now you should know what you like and don't so if you enjoy very wild concepts and randomness with basically gwar cinematics than this movie is 100% for you. If you can't stand over the time gore and strange humor then you should skip this movie. Other movies that I think are awesome are Memento, The Unseeable, Moon, or anything by Stanley Kubrick.
Very crazy gory eccentric movie. take with an open mind..
