The Witch Who Came from the Sea1976

Sorry. This film is not currently available.

  • 3.2
Representing something of an anomaly in the career of director Matt Cimber (whose other credits include such blaxploitation fare as THE CANDY TANGERINE MAN) THE WITCH WHO CAME FROM THE SEA is an unnerving journey into madness and murder starring Millie Perkins. Molly experiences violent fantasies in which she ties muscular men up before bloodily dispatching them with a razor. But when a news report announces the shocking double-murder of two football players, which strongly echoes one of Molly's most recent depraved flights of fancy, the fantasy starts to bleed into reality, literally.

A low budget exploitative gem with a sublime performance by Millie Perkins as Molly who, despite being crazy as a shite-house rat and prone to doing bad things with razor blades, still comes across as sympathetic, believable and even likable. DVD Drive-In provides some interesting back story on this film that's worth reading: http://www.dvddrive-in.com/reviews/t-z/witchwhocamesea76.htm

THIS IS A DELUSIONAL PIECE OF GARBAGE IT MAD NO SENSE WAS HARRD TO FOLLOW AND HAD A VERY BROKEN STORYLINE..NOT WORTH WATCHING!!!!!!!

That made me wince more times than I was prepared for, especially as most of the actual violence takes place out of frame.

Prepare yourself for some curveball lines. There are not a lot of applicable life lessons in this movie. The soundtrack is a great mushy pile of sea-related music. If you love nautical innuendos this movie will deliver at least twice. Prepare for a one-line conspiracy theory on who kills football players... shocking.

sweeet pussy!
