Broderick Fox gets a very permanent tattoo, all the while exploring the mutability of identity, during the course of this autobiographical documentary. The contradictory nature of these two activities adds to the interest of the film, which is also graced by Fox's ability to remain seemingly quite objective in assessing his own life. Most importantly, Fox stays away from blame-casting and self-pity in favor of introspection. My personal emotional reaction was to be put off for the first few minutes, but I stuck with the film and am glad I did so.
