This film is hard to review, at least for me. The film is neither good nor bad. The film is a 1963 German version of what the Germans thought a British murder mystery should be. Filmed in Germany this version is dubbed in English, but a few stray signs and the music and singing make plain that this is a German film. The titular hero Wellby (O.W. Fischer) is slightly rude and pushy and constantly making passes at the heroine Clarisse (Karin Dor) as he struggles to expose the murderer. The plot has a few holes and some silliness but I've watched worse films. This is a film one can watch while folding laundry and not worry about missing any crucial points -- there aren't any to miss. One upside is that the film has the lovely Karin Dor before she became a "Bond Girl" in "You Only Live Twice" (1967).
A DECENT HORROR MOVIE IT HAD MOMENTS OF EXCITEMENT BUT NOT A GREAT DEAL OF THRILLS AND A SIMPLE PLOT THAT ADDED INTEREST ONLY MODERATELY BUT WITH A BLACK AND WHITE FORMAT ITS HARD TO STIR A LOT OF INTEREST EVEN WITH A SIMPLE PLOT LIKE PORTRAYED IN THIS FILM!!
I HATED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT............
