The Millionaire1963

  • 4.0
Decades before Leona Helmsley willed millions of dollars to her dog, this snappy Soviet animated film invented the same premise for an absurdist portrayal of the corrupting influence of wealth. The bulldog heir treats himself to all manner of luxury and finds that money is the only social convention that matters: the only thing keeping a dog from running for political office in America is the size of his bank account. In spite of its pat ideological lessons, THE MILLIONAIRE’s jazzy rhythms and bright colors suggest a more complex relationship with capitalist culture.

Definitely a cartoon with an agenda but despite being made in 1963 and in the Soviet Union, it's still relevant today!
