I can't believe I had never seen this before. A timeless document of a band at the height of its powers. Still relevant in 2016.

I hate that I waited even one minute to watch this film. My ever growing Devo obsession hit a new high just two minutes into Mark Motherbaugh's gyrating and shimmying to a great collection of songs from 'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo' and 'Duty Now For The Future.' Also, spot Mark Mothersbaugh, Sr. as General Boy.
How can there be no inclusion of maybe the greatest Video of all time: Whip It???
The Men Who Make the Music contains videos, skits and live footage - including a great version of Secret Agent Man - from Devo's Duty Now for the Future tour. On July 6, 1979, I saw Devo's Duty Now for the Future tour at Lawrence (KS) Opera House. It was like watching theater, standup comedy, a fashion show, performance art and a rock and roll concert at the same time. There were four costume and stage changes and Devo videos opened and closed the show, including the Devo Corporate Anthem after the group finished their four song encore and had left the stage. I've never laughed my ass off/ rocked my ass off, simultaneously, as much as I did That night. ...and Todd Browning's film Freaks was the opening act.
