The Ghost of Piramida2012

Gorgeous movie that squanders perfection halfway through by choosing music video over documentary. I loved Efterklang's auditory explorations, but felt the film scanted Piramida's history as a utopia within a dystopia. The aging narrator, now "living in silence," becomes a sentimental totem instead of a witness to something larger. Still, the stunning cinematography, abundant Super 8 footage, and constructed soundscapes make this a film well worth seeing -- and hearing.

pleasantly surprised with this one. originally I thought it was going to be a close imitation of Sigur Ros' "Heima" but I saw otherwise. what a wonderful way to commemorate a long forgotten town like Piramida.
Fascinating and serves as a great companion to Efterklang's 2012 album.
give this a chance and when you start, stick with it. very cool film.
