Yes, it's slapstick, it's goofy, the characters are absurd, but it's wonderful and touching. The undersea dance number was surreal and un-explained but who cares about that when the romance is blossoming. At times it seems as if the fantasy is being explained away, thankfully that was not the case, my disbelief was willingly suspended by the end of this dadaist fairytale.

Nothing monumental here, but it was a whole lot of fun to watch. It was very funny in parts, with very good physical humor, without breaking down into slapstick. I thought the leads were wonderful in a Fellini-esque way. All very good natured humor, never offensive or off-putting. Very clever low budget movie that makes for a fun diversion. Well recommended
I loved this French-language comedy set in a small hotel in the industrial port of Le Havre. Some of the physical comedy is wonderful, especially the rooftop dance of the two awkward lovers, the hotel clerk and his sweetheart, a fairy, both of whom reminded me of Buster Keaton.
This movie was one of kind.. So much non-sense but there is pure mind and joy that keeps the movie very entertaining. It doesn't appear to have a plot which draws curiosity of what's next and makes everything so unpredictable. I find it very artistic and surprisingly creative. Such a simplicity can make so much variety in the story line. The movie also seems to show that people are always running.. running for somewhere. running from someone/something/somewhere.. but they don't know where to... People just run ..
Dominique and Fiona are back with more outrageous acrobatics, clever antics and subtle nuance to outmaneuver anything keeping them from being together. In the pure tradition of slapstick and silent era physical wit, the moral is, take all the wishes you can get in life now, and take your time with the one's you have left. (And it doesn't hurt to have a lifetime supply of gas).
This movie was totally silly, but I loved it.
Great film, some of the comedy parts reminded me of the Marx Bros
very interesting!
much like Delicatessen
Refreshing and fun. Warm and delightful.
Silly. Goofy. Strange and lovely. Great casting. Fiona is able to be gracefully awkward. Lots of chuckles. If there is love, you don't need three magic wishes. Think about it. Take your time. Wonderful.
Wonderful slapstick. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face with it's unforgettable characters. Bravo Dominique,Fiona and the rest of the cast!
Entertaining, whimsical fairy tale
loved it a wild crazy film these two need to make films
silly zany comedy a la Francis humor. some philosophy weaved in the background. take your time.
A seriously excellent film. An abstract imaginative slapstick 21st century comedy... SEE THIS FILM!
Not sure if I should call this silly or brilliant. But it is truly a breath of fresh air. The actors are amazing, the comedy is refreshing, and the romance is so pure.
outstanding!
graceful and really funny
Imaginative and light hearted.
A sweet, absurdist romance. In the tradition of Buster Keaton shorts, but with a Gallic flair.
Delightfully quirk slapstick farcical love story. A fun film to watch, a relief from predictable films.
Truly an amazing film that's slapstick, but not so much so that it becomes ridiculous. Chaplin, Lloyd, and Keaton would be proud. Worth the watch.
It seams the the notion of comedy is gone.It is very difficult to find a good comedy like in old time. They have to add violence, crime or sex to thy to make people laugh and it is no funny!
This movie is not a comedy. It is struggle of life to survive to day when you are poor!
I loved this movie.......................it was a great trip..........beautiful colors and design and then the compelling continual dance routine of their lives and the elegant movements of their dance..............an expression of color. movement and form...............a piece of art i would say
Loved this movie.
very immature and total waste of time.... Really is this what you offer?
