  • 3.9
Filmed at a summer cottage in the Laurentians north of Montreal, this film briefly permeates the charmed world of the adolescent. Watching and listening, you sense the bittersweet mood of childhood's end and the poignant awareness that nothing will ever be the same after this summer at the lake.

This is the type of narrative documentary filmmaking evocative of the lives and environment it is covering that is not ever done anymore. At least not in the US. NFBC was great at this and this is a prime example.

Lovely sigh at the end, along with a previous attempt at capturing angels, is a valiant attempt at avoiding the end of summer.
