From the first frame, "The Break" races like a James Bond opening sequence to action and suspense. The director burns through the film synopsis in less than 3 minutes. That's when the intrigue commences.
You understand what "Jacko" is all about from the get-go, but what about the other characters? Not everyone is who they appear to be. It's up to you to discover what the true motives are for each individual and how that is going to affect the plot. Good cast, good acting and a jolly good yarn.
This film was produced in 1963 so you know its not going to have a happy ending, but the writers (Jane & Pip Baker) were able to throw in a surprise toward the end. It's a good classic crime and adventure drama.
