Thank you for making this available. I remember seeing it on PBS, and it was one of the things that sparked my interest in classical music.
This fascinating and satisfying little doc explains a lot about how a symphonic conductor and musicians communicate with each other. It also features some rather amusing heroic shots of the conductor in a state of ecstasy.
If only the people who do the live broadcasts from the Met Opera would study this superb film, we could all enjoy better and learn a whole lot more. Of course I want to see more, other from what the film shows, but I'm tremendously grateful for the insightful direction and camera work that yields so much. Wonderful!
This is a great document! Makes me want to go and make a documentary about my own city's symphony which is mired in financial troubles.
YES! BEAUTIFUL as well as Informative!
Watch hooked up to BOSE speakers...amazing!
A great document of a great symphony playing a great piece of music. Excellent
I freakin' LOVE this film. An absolute classic!
It's basically a full performance of "Bolero."
