THIS ONE IS A TRUE CHILLER AND EXCELLENT REMAKE OF AN EDGAR ALLEN POE CLASSIC LIKE THE BLACK CAT SUPERB ACTING VERY FRIGHTENING AT AND CERTAINLY UNPREDICTABLE MOST OF THE TIME. THIS IS A MUST SEE IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A TRUE HORROR FILM I RECOMMEND IT YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL FIRST RATE MOST DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That darn cat!
Ho hum. Sad when the cat is the best actor in the film!
Other than giving me ideas for training my black cat (his name is Kevin) to become an assassin, this film was rather dull.
i did enjoy it
One of Fulci's more restrained films, BLACK CAT is a mystery/ thriller that still veers towards surrealism -- especially, early on when we have no idea who any of the characters are or why "accidents" keep happening in this sleepy, English village. Even when the mystery is "solved," the film's feverishness only ramps up to a final, Poe-inspired denouement. Fulci doesn't get enough credit for how good-looking his films are. Put up against the super-saturated palettes of il Maestro Bava and Argento, BLACK CAT looks naturalistic, but no less visually stunning, particularly, his compositions and the natural beauty of the English country-side. There are some trademarked Fulci touches, as well, such as the fog-choaked cemetery and deserted, night-time streets, and, of course, some gothic putrescence. The cat attacks are pretty awesome, too!
Great movie.One of Fulcis best!
