Upon losing his wife, seventy-five year old Werner ventures out to the back of his house and begins to rebuild the Berlin Wall, stirring fervent reactions from the local suburbanites, refugees, children and police.

The star of this film, says not a word throughout the length of the film (16 min.) I began to wonder what the point of the film was, as he slowly attracted the attention of his neighbors--some bewildered about his activity, some disapproving, some approving--and finally attracted the attention of the Polizei. But his final statement was extremely powerful and valuable!!! Watch it.

Touching film. A review of cultural ambiguities and emotions.
Excellent movie! Very thought-provoking.
Very nice!! I thought it was political and then it just turned out to be love. :)
