I loved this film from the very first moment, the film is a masterpiece, one which I believe will stand the test of time, like most of Antonini's work.
The unsurpassed beauty of Antonioni's visual art lifts this fairly average story and it's people into the exalted realm of the senses. Each scene is so tastefully done, and one can see the slight differences in each segment, yet the film works seamlessly, a beautiful piece of work by one of the all time masters of film.

OK, but story doesn't quite conflate, good tension but drama not well packed, so we couldn't be less interested in what happens to the characters, could care less about the climax. It needed a re-write.
not enough love in the love affair, plenty of grief, brings up a question,is this smoking hot love worth it?? play some golf read the paper, nap eat dinner, better off!!!!!this film was pretty good, not hot enough
It's in Italian with rapid pace sub-titles because the actors don't say their lines, they rattle them off; that's how they talk: really, really fast. It was typical tsk tsk romance film, very well executed, some economy issues but not too difficult. She's all elegant in her high fashion/jewelry/furs and they have a secret. The husband is dead and he promises to come back tomorrow but doesn't. She cries. And cries. And sobs. And weeps and bawls. I don't know if she went far as an actress but she's really awful here. The music soundtrack is awful. Loud and interruptive. If you're gonna watch a foreign film, this is a waste of time. Watch something else.
it was alright
