Stille Nacht I1988

  • 4.3
The first film of the STILLE NACHT series (initially commissioned as an "MTV Art Break") is a gorgeous black and white reverie about iron filings.

Charming yet creepy- a fabulous combination! I adore the work of the Quay Brothers. I remember seeing this when it first aired on MTV many years ago; it was such a treat to see it again.

Gives me all the best sorts of creepy-crawlies.

Always fun to watch your food moving about in your bowl...

this is the best of the Stille Nacht series. Genuinely Very creepy and uneasy

Queer short. Hauntingly eccentric!

Fantastic!

This film uses some unusual special effects with magnets and iron filings. A mysterious, animated doll like figure appears and performs in what seems to be stop action sequences. The film projects this somewhat sinister figure as the main character in sort of a "Twilight Zone" setting. As a short art film only, there seems to be no screenplay or plot involved. The music background lends substance to this "creepy" short.
