Antoneta Kastrati's She Comes In Spring (2013) is a really great film. My only complaint about it is that it's just too damn short. Somebody should give this fine filmmaker the resources she needs to make a feature length film on the same topic because she obviously has some real filmmaking talent, and she is obviously familiar with the issues involved.

Films like this uncover the violence and the stories from these wars in our own lifetime, stories that we seldom get to hear, and the crimes that can never be brought to justice.

A harsh but necessary look at the conflict in the Balkans from the 1990s after the dissolution of the Soviet Bloc from the point of view of the people who were brutalized in the conflict. The horror in this film is that these people were once neighbors, figuratively, and became reduced to violence and prejudice. The past will always haunt them.

This is a powerful and disturbing short film about the Serbian massacres of Albanians in Kosovo in 1999. I can't say much more than it hit me like a truck.
