Sex in an Epidemic2010

  • 4.2
This engaging documentary provides a sociocultural perspective on the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its ongoing impact on the most effected populations including the gay, African-American and Latino communities. Incorporating interviews and media footage from the earliest days of the AIDS panic through the present, SEX IN AN EPIDEMIC reminds us that though the world has been living with the realities of HIV/AIDS for nearly 30 years, ignorance and prejudice about the disease must still be combated.

THIS WAS A VERY INFORMATIVE DOCUMENTARY CENTERING AROUND A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE WHICH SADLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAD TO DIE BEFORE OUR GOVERNMENT BEING FULL OF HOMOPHOBIC, RACIST, DOWN RIGHT HATEFUL PEOPLE FINALLY WERE FORED TO APPROVE FUNDING FOR RESEARCHING THE HIV/AIDS VIRUS. FOR A COUNTRY WHO PROFESSES FREEDOM, CIVILRIGHTS, LOVE, ACCEPTANCE TO OTHER COUNTRIES, SURE DOES HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH ENFORCES THOSE SAME PINCIPLES IN AMERICA. IT MAKES US LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES AND PHONIES, BEFORE WE START TALKING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S BACKYARDS WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN. HOWEVER THIS WAS A WELL PUT TOGETHER DOCUMENTARY GOOD JOB.

This documentary on the AIDS epidemic should be mandatory for middle and high school students to see.

very informative. it really gives one something to think about how things were and are now. especially with advancements with preventative measures, yet it's still a problem society has today.
