Pastoral no.52011

  • 3.3
An open glade with a couple making out on a blanket foregrounds a lovely wooded hill that filmmaker, visual artist and interdisciplinarian Jonn Herschend frames for another of his chronicles of dysfunction in the workplace. The director of a film using the park as a location calls action and a couple walks out of the trees and down the path as a young man yells and follows them to complain about their dog. Far from being part of the script, this is the eighth take the man has ruined. Fight or flight from the persistent pest? PASTORAL NO.5 is a reminder that a picnic often attracts ants. - Marilyn Ferdinand

As a frequenter of Bernal Hill myself, this was really fun to watch. The director cleverly toys with the viewers perception of what is actually occurring in the scene.

There's something better to watch, for sure.

Really quite lovely. Cute.
