also known as National Parks Project: Waterton Lakes National Park

  • 3.7
Peter Lynch's entry in Canada's National Parks Project takes in somewhat melancholy look at Wateron Lakes National Park, "The Place Where Lakes Go Into the Mountains." Slow pans of the land, eagle calls, rain, flowing water and Blackfoot drums and chanting intermingle with modern pop songs by musicians Cadence Weapon, Laura Barrett and Mark Hamilton, elderly white tourists and ranches in the Alberta park. Despite the sad lyrics and buffalo skulls, life goes on and beauty endures, for now. - Marilyn Ferdinand

A short, experimental film that is accessible, beautiful, meaningful and clear. Some of the shots in this film are astounding. Makes you want to drive to Waterton Lakes tomorrow.
