Onechanbara: Vortex2009

  • 3.1
Our favorite bikini-clad, cowboy-hat-wearing zombie assassin returns in this follow-up to the Japanese exploitation hit ONECHANBARA. Once again, our clothing-challenged heroine Aya (this time played by the pouty pin-up model Yu Tejima, who brings a slightly, um, curvier approach to the role) battles various zombie hordes, this time with the help of her schoolgirl-uniformed half-sister Saki (now played by Akari Ozawa) and another survivor, clad in leather fetish gear. Released straight to home video in 2009, this sequel continues the original's goofball mash-up of the classic Japanese chanbara (or swordplay) genre with the motifs and imagery of the zombie film, with scantily clad pin-up idols in an assortment of fetish outfits thrown into the mix as well. Slightly darker in tone than the first film (especially during its latter half) but nonetheless surprisingly PG-rated, it succeeds in providing what its alternate English title promises: BIKINI ZOMBIE SLAYERS, complete with zombies, bikinis, swordfights, spouting necks of blood and plenty of Yu Tejima. - Jason Sanders

Save the world from the evil with very tasty graphics and artwork style that is a visual treat throughout the film. Young Samurai like swords women fight zombies, so lots of spurting fountains of blood, which also happens to be right at the center of the quest; bloodlines and their magic effects on each other. Never a dull moment and this film has a very delicious Japanese flavor I've learned to love. I recommend watching this one to anyone who enjoys a lot of mythical like fighting and sword play, but also the characters are very young, so this has a real warm friendship complex of the youth and siblings backing each other up when the chips are down. Honor is at the forefront and loyalty comes in a close second, because who can tell what they will become when the shift in their blood is awakened? Wild with honor and deep devotion perhaps?

I never got to see the movie it stop after 1 minute so I watched part of another movie but it stopped about half way through to!!! Most of the movies I watch on fandor never play all the way to the end of the movie!!! I have dish sat internet and ASUS 2400 router wifi but even with the state of the art equipment I have you movies rarely play from their start to the end I have no trouble playing NETFLIX movies or any other internet movies !!! But FADOR must have very poor equipment for their web cast movies !!! I keep Fandor only because its cheap and half of a movie is better than no movie !!! It does make it to difficult to rate the movies !!!
