Sorry. This film is not currently available.

  • 4.0
When presidential candidate George McGovern took on incumbent Richard Nixon in 1972, no one really expected him to win (and he didn't). But in his bold, grassroots, seat-of-the-pants campaign, which energized young and progressive Americans to a degree never before seen, we find the genesis of today's powerful and sophisticated progressive movement.

Essential.

Required 'reading' for anyone wanting to understand the 2016 upswell for Bernie Sanders.

I loved this doc. It brought back wonderful memories of the great George McGovern and the effective end of American liberalism during that long ago 1972 campaign. How the American people -- in 49 states -- could have rejected him in favor of Nixon is beyond me.
