Mood Indigo2013

  • 4.1
Eminently inventive auteur Michel Gondry finds inspiration from french novelist Boris Vian's cult novel to provide the foundation for this visionary and romantic love story starring Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris. Set in a charmingly surreal Paris, Duris plays wealthy bachelor Colin, whose hobbies include developing his pianocktail (a cocktail-making piano) and devouring otherworldly dishes prepared by his trusty chef Nicolas.

Surprise!

I can't recall ever having been so off the mark in forecasting how much pleasure I would receive watching a given film–in fact, I'd have bet a good deal that I would not find this film much to my taste.

Other than a "short" or two, Mood Indigo is the first FANDOR offering that I've elected to watch a second time IMMEDIATELY after having seen it.

A visual feast that manages to be both nonsensical and deeply meaningful all at once.

An incredible fusion of romance, tragedy, fantasy, and social satire, all buttressed by unique visual imagery. A journey that is both fascinating and poignant.
