Awesome and silly Kung Fu powers, over-the-top action, and a killer soundtrack make this a very fun movie. Light on plot and heavy on fighting and murder, this movie is well worth anyone's time.

Outrageous! Outlandish! Outstanding! Among the films that made up the great Kung Fu movie explosion of the 1970’s, this is the wild card, the movie that thrives in it’s own crazy Universe. Superhuman assassins and warriors square off in a bloody comic book of incredible acrobatics and diabolical weapons to a soundtrack of 70’s Krautrock borrowed from artists like Tangerine Dream and Kraftwer without their permission! Countless movies and video games have taken ideas from this film, but there is only one MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILLOTINE!

This film is simply the most seriously over-the-top kung-fu film ever. So serious it is almost funny. Kung-fu doesn't get more classic than this. Overall 4 of 5 stars but for a kung-fu film 5 of 5 stars...

Stolen kroutrock tracks and xenophobic stereotyping amongst other offenses. "offenses".

i wish there were more like this.

The plot of the film is simple: The blind Master of the Flying Guillotine is out to kill the One-Armed Boxer. Yes, this is a fighting film in which the two protagonists are, ahem, differently-abled. This does not prevent them from kicking insane amounts of ass. Master of the Flying Guillotine is one ass-kicking after another. Hell, in the middle of the movie they stop dead for a martial arts tournament that absorbs about a third of the film's running time with nothing but one warrior after another duking out to the death in whatever bizarre fighting style they favor. It's basically Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter in film form (and both those games would rip off ideas and characters from this sequence).

Virtually non-stop fights from start to finish, and the finale showdown in a bird shop and coffin shop is amazing. Full of outrageous stunts and funny villains – my favorite being the Sikh with elastic arms and a mascot attack owl on his shoulder. The exaggerated cartoon soundtrack adds a lot of excitement. So much fun!

A catapult of a film, filled to the brim with every one of the most striking elements of Chinese martial arts cinema: handicapped heroes (and villains); a tournament of various styles, strange powers, outrageous weapons and super powers all of which is shot like a Jack Kirby comic come to life and set to an incredible soundtrack of German industrial rock. A uniquely Chinese superhero movie where our hero uses blunt male energy and cunning to overcome a menagerie of super-powered enemies. A movie of impossible vitality.

Excellent duels with a little supernatural flavor.

Classic camp

Fun movie, fun ending. Music is interesting.

From the second the awesome kraut rock soundtrack kicked in,the second I saw the blind master jump through his roof and toss bombs, I knew I was in for a masterpiece. And no joke, this is a masterpiece. The blind master character is beyond bad ass, I wish there was more of him out there. And this is an obvious heavy influence on Streetfighter and Mortal Kombat (you'll notice quickly during the tournament scene). Really great, really original. I can watch this over and over.

Quite a classic with goof and cheese.

very entertaining.

This movie is pretty freaking awesome. Cheesy and unrealistic at times? Sure, but that should be expected after looking at the title of the film. The fight scenes between Jimmy and the other martial artists are just awesome. Also, the flying guillotine is the most hilarious weapon I have ever seen in a movie. Definitely worth the hour and a half of your time.
