What is veganism? As one interviewee here puts it, it is "the logical end of vegetarianism: no exploitation of animals at all." Marc Pierschel’s documentary asks vegans on either side of the Atlantic what made them decide to forgo not just meat but dairy and other animal-related products. We also hear about the practice’s history (dating back to early 1940s England), weigh the ethical questions driving animal-rights activism and we’re reminded that livestock consumption comes at a high price. That price includes both individual susceptibility to health problems (diabetes, heart disease and so forth) and the major environmental damage caused by factory animal farming. In addition to average folk who have adopted the vegan lifestyle, voices heard from here encompass professional athletes, chefs, ethnologists, ecologists, philosophers, dietitians and psychologists. - Dennis Harvey

Almost makes you want to go Vegan. It may for some. Compelling arguments for doing so.
