Klown2010

  • 3.9
KLOWN follows two wildly inappropriate friends, as they run amok through the Danish countryside, plowing through endless awkward confrontations and unspeakable debaucheries. Hopelessly wrongheaded Frank "kidnaps" the twelve-year-old nephew of his pregnant girlfriend in an eager attempt to prove his fatherhood potential, and they join sex-crazed Casper on his secret adulterous weekend canoe trip. Rampaging through exclusive brothels, hospitalizations, armed robberies and even prison, the three paddle downstream from one chaotic misadventure to the next, all culminating in a surprisingly sentimental portrait of friendship and a final shocking reveal that you'll never be able to unsee.

Definitely an uncomfortable film to sit through, Klovn is a thoroughly dark Danish comedy that takes the simplistic 'comedy-of-errors' routine and lets it careen off a cliff before smashing on some rocks at the edge of yet another cliff.

I laughed so much at this film, which follows Frank and Casper, two comedy writers who have planned a 'Tour de Pussy' canoe trip that is interrupted by Frank 'kidnapping' his 12-year old nephew to prove to his pregnant girlfriend that he is father material. I know - already off the bat it sounds absurd and perhaps offensive, which it is - but it gets even worse, trust me.

I've seen a few episodes of the television show that precedes the film (you don't need to watch it first, as the film stands as its own self-contained narrative) and that certainly made it a lot easier to connect with the bumbling Frank, who actions, or rather inactions, are fairly horrifying. The show has been said to be the Danish Curb Your Enthusiasm but it strikes me as less cerebral and a lot darker than its American predecessor - it too is worth viewing.

Entertaining and Funny! One of the most hilarious comedy / drama's I can recall witnessing! Too bad people with all their hang ups can't enjoy this film. Well I did! LOL!

I enjoyed this campy, misogynistic film a lot. A buddy movie with a twist...

Casper is a hot sexist man that is easy to like and Frank the "dull" one has a more gentle demeanor...that evolves nicely with his girlfriends son. Nice ending,,,,

Hysterical--great film!!!

Dark comedy with a guy who does his best with his horn dog friend in order to prove he is father potential. Anything that could go wrong does, but all turns out in the end. It was fun to watch and I'm glad I did.

i haven't laughed out loud in ages. crass humor, it goes there so if you are easily offended, you might want to skip this movie.

THis was funny, what the fuck is wrong with Danish people
