Academy Award®-nominated animator Don Hertzfeldt dazzles us with this touching and darkly humorous character study that follows a man grappling with the meaning of life in the wake of troubling events. Blending traditional animation with experimental special effects, this film was single-handedly created over the course of several years.

"Hertzfeldt is to stick figures what Franz Liszt was to planks of ebony and ivory: someone so transcendentally expert that to describe what they do in literal terms is borderline demeaning." - Steven Pate, Chicagoist

Funny and unforgettable! What at first appears to be a bit of twisted existentialism soon morphs into something far more profound. This one is not to be missed.

This film was originally released in three separate chapters: Everything Will Be OK (2006), I Am So Proud of You (2008), and It's Such a Beautiful Day (2011). The version presented here splotches the chapters together without much way to discern between episodes. I believe the best way to view the film is to watch each chapter separately, giving yourself time to digest the tragic irony of each. I've found that those who've complained that the film is tedious tried to watch the film straight through, which is understandable since each episode is pretty heavy, and there are scenes mirrored between episodes that when viewed in one sitting become repetitious. I waited years between watching each chapter and found them all to be a masterpiece, so I would recommend waiting at least a day between each part. For those who want to view one chapter at a time, pause at 17:38 and then again at 38:43.

And great loves found... lost... and found... Hermosa escena y final.

Love this. A lot of existential weight is carried by this little stick guy. A bit repetitious though,as if the storyline was a stuck record; perhaps that's the point.

in love

I couldn't finish it. I found it tedious.
