Fascinating documentry of Litvinenko who was poisoned by, it appears, the Russian Secret Service using a nuclear substance.
Jos de Putter's In Memoriam Alexander Litvinenko (2007) is a very well researched, and very well executed documentary. It should also be a warning to all potential "whistle blowers" and critics of the "powers that be" to what extent these powers will go to discredit you, ruin your life, or, as in the case of this film, just kill you. This case got a lot of media attention because the West was able to make a lot of propaganda fodder out of a Russian dissident being killed by Russia in the UK. But, don't let that make you believe that this is a rare case in any way. People who stand up to powers far greater than themselves are silenced everyday in Russia, in the USA, and all around the world. This is this just the rare case that got attention.
Important and well done. An important story and one I hope is never forgotten.
