Baseball intersects with Native American culture in this unique dramatic short from 1909. As usual, the plot centers around the pitcher of a Choctaw baseball team. Also as usual, someone wants him to throw a game. Deviating from the usual, though, the pitcher takes matters into his own hands and things don't quite work out as expected.

I don't think I've ever watched the a movie that so captured how time will swallow up our lives, that everything we think is significant is fleeting. This movie is making me into a nihilist. Dude wins the game, is the HERO, and isn't given a few extra seconds to see if his reprieve is coming. Is shot and buried. And while his teammates care enough to show up, they leave immediately. Everyone does. And this hero is buried in the middle of nowhere. Will he even be given a marker? Who will talk about him 50 years from then? Even 10 days from then? How bleak.
I don't think the filmmakers intended this nihilism. But it's there.
More to it than thought...
