I had on my bucket list, to get drunk and sit around singing old Mexican ballads with Harry Dean Stanton. Too late for that one now. My bucket's got a hole in it. But you never know...
That being so, there's always this excellent and very personal doc by director Sophie Huber in which I can watch Harry muse about his life with none other than David Lynch, and hang with him at the bar in Dan Tanas. highest recommend.
David Lynch: "How would you describe yourself?"
Harry Dean Stanton: "As nothing. There is no self."
David Lynch: "How would you like to be remembered?"
Harry Dean Stanton: "It doesn't matter."
David Lynch: "What were your dreams as a child?"
Harry Dean Stanton: (Clears Throat) "Nightmares."
