HARRY DEAN STANTON: PARTLY FICTION is a personal documentary about the iconic actor in his intimate moments, with clips from some of his two hundred and fifty films and his own heart-breaking renditions of American folk songs. Lensed in color and black and white by Seamus McGarvey, the film explores the actor's enigmatic outlook on his life, his unexploited talents as a musician, and includes scenes with David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Sam Shepard, Kris Kristofferson and Debbie Harry.

I had on my bucket list, to get drunk and sit around singing old Mexican ballads with Harry Dean Stanton. Too late for that one now. My bucket's got a hole in it. But you never know...

That being so, there's always this excellent and very personal doc by director Sophie Huber in which I can watch Harry muse about his life with none other than David Lynch, and hang with him at the bar in Dan Tanas. highest recommend.

David Lynch: "How would you describe yourself?"

Harry Dean Stanton: "As nothing. There is no self."

David Lynch: "How would you like to be remembered?"

Harry Dean Stanton: "It doesn't matter."

David Lynch: "What were your dreams as a child?"

Harry Dean Stanton: (Clears Throat) "Nightmares."
