Max Von Sydow at his best...
Shows that surprising element of stubbornness to be found in some of his books, like "Hunger," for instance - but with pathos!
Outstanding performance by Max von Sydow -- the greatness of the poet comes through -- and the rest of the cast are excellent. If Knut Hamsun could see the world today, he would know how right he was about so many things. He fell into the hands of devils after the war, as has much of the planet. An extraordinary story.
