In this mesmerizing new film, acclaimed director Werner Herzog explores the life and death of amateur grizzly bear expert and wildlife preservationist Timothy Treadwell, who lived unarmed among grizzlies for 13 summers.

Treadwell loved animals, no doubt, but he was annoying them and harassing them. The way he talked was annoying, he was egocentric, and not respectful toward the animals in the way he talked to them. This idiot probably had a subconscious death wish, because he had been alcoholic and had a drug overdose before. The sheer audacity of intruding in the bear's space so he could have his selfish "experience" made me angry. He didn't respect boundaries and didn't show the natural fear that a physically weaker animal should have. Nature sensed that something was off, there was a defect, and got rid of it. And he is responsible for the death of the girlfriend, and the bear that never would have been shot if he had just LEFT THEM ALONE. I'm also angry about the attitude of the hunters who think this is a "resource" to be "harvested", in their words. Bears did fine for thousands of years without man interfering with them. They exist for their own reasons and are not there for the entertainment of killing them. LEAVE THEM ALONE.
