Emmy Ferguson is a ten year old who learns that, after a long bout with leukemia, today is probably her last day on earth. Chris Ryan is a thirty-five year old drug addict who is determined to make this his last day. Adonna Frost, suffering from advanced breast cancer, has made a similar decision about the end of her life. They are all strangers to each other. But as Emmy embarks on a strange journey and as the day's events bring these three dying people together through Emmy's unique point of view, their lives are changed forever.
