One could easily factor out the internet chat rooms from the stories in this documentary, and it would result in the same bottom line: the need to connect, express, communicate, relate and be loved. The girls and young women in this film all share a common position of having to endure the conflict-filled real world encounters, and the chat rooms are the medium in which they retreat to get the resources and contacts they make in order to cope ... on the outside.
