Dream Band Jazz America1982

Sorry. This film is not currently available.

  • 3.7
In 1982, Dizzy Gillespie performed at Lincoln Center with his celebrated Dream Band, which brought together master musicians who had played with Dizzy or been influenced by him. Driven by the stellar drums of Max Roach, the Dream Band is on fire and Dizzy is fine form. Including amazing turns from Gerry Mulligan, Gillespie protege John Faddis, Milt Jackson, Paquito DiRiviera, Candido and more. [Apologies for the poor source quality of this film. It is presented here in the best transfer currently available.]

Five star in every sense. I have seen many of these great players, and more. Most are gone or,like

Keith Jarrett coming to their end. It's heartbreaking. Great music, great entertainment. An Era in

jazz not to be equaled in talent, and brotherhood.
