Dear Pyongyang2005

  • 4.5
A young girl's father sends her three brothers from Japan to live permanently in a homeland foreign to them: North Korea. In this autobiographical documentary spanning ten years, the daughter left behind, filmmaker Yonghi Yang, struggles to understand why her loving father would split his family apart out of political loyalty to an isolated and enigmatic regime. As her family visits North Korea, Yonghi takes her camera along and talks with her brothers about how the separation from their parents has left a mark upon their lives.
