An interesting little gothic murder tale, with themes that could not have been broached, I think, in American movies at that time. Worth watching.

The Giggling Strangler. A complete scoundrel steals another man's "inheritance" and tries to fool London society into believing that he is a gentleman. There is nothing he won't do or say to have his way and to live a life of luxury.

The fact that the villain giggles while he strangles the life out of anyone who gets in his way is unnerving (even today). As the lies and murders pile up, the false Sir Percival Glyde doubles down in one final bid to keep what he has stolen.

The closing scene at the church is one of the most overacted in film history.

I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes

Classic!

Love the Classics!

What a disappointment! I usually love horror films from the Brits ( B or otherwise) but this was a complete waste of time.

fun. dark. silly.

Not very good, poor acting. Greedy sleazy murder marries young rich girl (her guardian forced her). He then continues to murder others to get his way. Very B-type movie. Don't know why I bothered.

the villian and the damsel in distress pretty good
